How does Zip work?
Zip allows you to make purchases and get your goods shipped straight away but only pay 25% upfront with the rest charged over three fortnightly interest-free payments.
How much credit can I get with Zip?
If you pass Zip's minimum credit criteria you will be allocated a starting spend limit between $100 - $850, subject to an individualised credit assessment.
As you purchase using Zip and make your repayments on time, your spend limit will increase, up to a maximum of $1000 for most credit scores and $2000 for those with higher credit scores.
How do I sign up with Zip?
You can sign up when checking out or at zip.co/nz.
The sign-up process takes 2-3 minutes and you need to be 18 years or older with valid ID and a NZ debit or credit card.
What if I don't have an NZ Driver Licence or get an ID failed message when applying?
Zip needs to identify you.
You can get manually ID verified as part of the signup or checkout process with other forms of ID (this process can take up to 24 hours) so just follow the prompts.
Are there any hidden fees?
There are no fees and interest costs to shop with Zip if you make your payments on time.
From 31st July 2023, the late fee for Zip Pay in 4 has increased to $10 on new orders.
This means for orders made from 12:00 AM NZST 31st July 2023, the new late fee amount of $10 will apply to any payments not received on or before their due date.
The maximum limit for late fees per order will remain at $40.
Purchases made before 31st July will not be impacted by this change.
Orders with payments made on time will continue to not incur late fees.
Can I spend above my credit limit?
When checking out online, you can spend above your available Zip credit by increasing your first payment by the difference.
This is automatically calculated during checkout.
Why did I get declined?
Zip performs a credit check as part of its application process.
Zip retailers do not have any influence on Zip's credit criteria.
